Ford will be introducing both 1.6- and 2.0-liter versions of the engine. While we’d love to see the 2.0 and its expected 230 horsepower appear in the Fiesta, that’ll probably be reserved for a hot Focus, with the 1.6 doing duty in the smaller car. We’re not too upset—we expect about 185 horsepower out of the smaller engine, and combined with a feathery curb weight of around 2400 pounds, it should make the EcoBoost Fiesta a demonic little car. Microsoft and Ford: Two Millionth Sync-Enabled Car Sold March 25, 2010 - Datamation- Stuart J. Johnson
Ford Motor Company announced it has sold its two-millionth vehicle equipped with the Sync in-car communications and infotainment software that it developed with Microsoft, just ten months after it delivered its one millionth Sync-enabled vehicle. The one-millionth Sync-equipped Ford (NYSE: F) auto was a 2010 Fusion hybrid delivered to -- who else? -- Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer, Ford said in a statement on Wednesday. Ford did not identify who received the two-millionth Sync-enabled vehicle. Click here to read more >

Exclusive First Ride: 2011 Ford Edge Sport March 17, 2010 - The Auto Blog - Rex Roxy
Manufacturers used to roll out all-new cars every five-to-eight years. Somewhere around the halfway point – usually year three – much hoopla would be made about new front and rear fascias, the addition of some standard features and some new option packages. (*Yawn*). These changes were designed to give shoppers a reason to look at a car that was getting long-in-the-tooth. Ford Motor Company sung by this songbook for decades, but it's not any longer. As we've seen with the Escape, Fusion and Mustang, the Ford brand is rolling out significant product changes any time they darn well please. For example, the 2010 Fusion could have been a standard refresh, but instead included three all-new powertrains, a significantly upgraded interior, and the expected front and rear fascias. 2011 Ford Fiesta EcoBoost - Spied March 2010 - Car and Driver- Jared Gall
The Ford Fiesta is perhaps the Blue Oval’s most anticipated and most important launch of an all-new product in years. But the biggest news to hot-hatch hounds is the arrival of the EcoBoost model, which will be powered by a turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder. Analyst raises 12-month Ford outlook March 16, 2010 - BusinessWeek
An auto industry analysis raised his 12-month price target for Ford Motor Co. shares from $13 to $15 after meeting with Ford's management. UBS Securities LLC analyst Colin Langan, in a note to investors Tuesday, kept Ford's rating at "buy" and predicted that it would gain even more market share, more from crosstown rivals Chrysler Group LLC and General Motors Corp. than recall-plagued Toyota Motor Corp. Ford Announces New Police Interceptor to be Built in Chicago March 15, 2010 - The Chicagoist
Ford Motor Company announced on Friday that it will build the new 2011 Police Interceptor at the automaker's Torrence Ave plant, on Chicago's South side. Ford expects to offer the new vehicle without interruption when it discontinues production of the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, which is built in St. Thomas, Ontario in late 2011. Ford's Police Interceptor redesign was driven by tough new federal rollover requirements, something the Crown Vic couldn't meet. Selling a hot new police car to municipalities strapped for cash, though, might be a tough sell. Click here to read more >
Rendered Speculation: Ford Taurus SHO wagon is the apple of our eye March 9, 2010 - Auto Blog- Sam Abuelsamid
Many of us who sit around the Autoblog campfire every day are fans of station wagons. We love cars and love the idea of having some extra utility without giving up the generally superior driving dynamics of cars versus SUVs or crossovers. We also like the idea – if not necessarily the execution – of the Ford Taurus SHO. Being aware of that fact, one of our readers put his Photoshop skills to work and created the rendering you see here of a SHO wagon. Ford, of course, has never officially built an official SHO wagon – either with the current model or with its predecessors. Naturally, there have been some aftermarket and homebuilt conversions over the years, and even at least one that we know of that was built inside Dearborn. Click here to read more >

2010 Ford Taurus SHO AWD Review March 1, 2010 - The Auto Channel- John Heilig
super car in one sense, yet a family sedan in the other. This is more a reincarnation of the Chevrolet Caprice SS than the previous SHO. The Taurus SHO is a big car with plenty of interior room and a very good trunk. In many ways the Ford Taurus SHO (for Super High Output) is an anachronism. It’s a full-size sedan, unlike the previous generation Taurus (or Taurus SHO), with all the interior room one would want from a full-size sedan. Yet it also has more power than is necessary with very good handling. So is it a family car? Or is it a performance car? Click here to read more >

More good news for the Northeast Ohio auto industry. The Plain Dealer is reporting that UAW officials at the plant expect that a new shift will be added to the Cleveland area facility in the coming months as they start filling orders for the new 2011 Mustang which will feature the new 3.7-liter V-6 engine which will get 30 mpg. Time to Buy Ford (NYSE:F) February 24, 2010 - Wallstreet Nation - Bret Beaupain
We all know that Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) left the other automakers in the dust when they rebounded from 2009 lows. However, its run may not be over yet. In the wake of Toyota’s woes that include possible criminal probes and congressional hearings, Ford seems to be benefiting strongly as it grabs up market share. That’s not all though, Ford is one of the 2010 darling growth stocks. Click here to read more >

The Super Duty, which goes on sale that same month, offers Ford’s all-new, 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbocharged diesel engine. Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Orders Exceed Expectations February 19, 2010 - PickupTrucks.com - Mike Levine
Ford has received nearly 5,500 orders for the new 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor (please see our recent road test) since the truck went on sale late last year. The volume is over original projections for the Baja-style off-road pickup. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the popularity of the F-150 SVT Raptor,” said Mark Grueber, F-150 Marketing manager. “Orders have exceeded our expectations. The truck is so popular that we actually wound up building more 5.4-liter V-8 models than we had originally anticipated. The order banks are now open for the all-new 6.2-liter V-8, and the orders keep rolling in.” Click here to read more >
2011 Shelby GT350 Mustang to Pace Shelby American Sprint Cup NASCAR Race February 18, 2010 - Automobile Magazine
Shelby’s new 2011 GT350 Mustang may have already been publicly unveiled, but the hopped-up ponycar will have its first race debut as the pace car at the Shelby American Sprint Cup NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 28. “When we unveiled the new 2011 Shelby GT350 last month, fans clamored for the car to pace this NASCAR race,” said Amy Boylan, president of Shelby American. “Since so much of the GT350 was developed on the road course, drag strip and oval of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was appropriate to show off the Shelby’s handling there during the race. It will be exciting to watch a Shelby GT350 lead a race for the first time since 1970.” Click here to read more >
Ford's reinvention February 15, 2010 Business Journal - Connie Glaser
From time to time, I take a look at quintessential American companies that have managed to endure and even prosper despite economic and political challenges. Ford Motor Co. obviously falls into that category. When he was 40 years old, Henry Ford launched his second attempt at manufacturing cars with $28,000 in cash collected from 12 investors. As early as 1914, his concept of large-scale manufacturing that used moving assembly lines was celebrated around the world as "Fordism." Ford Motor Co., which survived the Great Depression, became one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world. It has been in family control for more than a century. Ford is forecast to take over Toyota's No. 2 ranking in sales February 11, 2010 - The LA Times - Jerry Hirsch
Ford Motor Co. could replace Toyota Motor Corp. as the second-biggest seller of autos in the United States this year as the string of massive recalls for acceleration and braking problems starts to take its toll on the Japanese automaker. Ford shows off refreshed Edge model at Chicago Auto Show February 10, 2010 - USA Today - Sharon Silke
Normally, when automakers say they are refreshing a car model, auto journalists react with a big yawn. But Ford's refreshing of the 2007 Ford Edge is fairly substantial, including a new front end and an all-new interior. The automaker showed off the Ford Edge at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, a somewhat subdued show being held in the middle of a Midwestern blizzard. Click here to read more >
Taurus with horns! 2010 Ford Taurus shockingly close to sports car territory February 9, 2010 - NY Daily News - Daid Mikesell
Imaginations must be running wild at Ford. 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 First Look February 8, 2010 - Popular Mechanics - Larry Webster
The top-shelf Mustang, the Shelby GT500, has been substantially updated yet again. This is no stripe-and-trim job. There's a new engine block, steering system, and newly recalibrated handling. What's surprising is that the GT500 was already heavily massaged for last year (here's our review of the 2010 Mustang Shelby GT500). That's the one we named the Performance Car of the Year. Apparently Ford wants to keep the flies off its pony. Let's take a look. Click here to read more >

In recent news legendary racecar driver Parnelli Jones together with officials at Ford Motor Company unveiled a new generation Ford Mustang BOSS 302R in Daytona Beach, Florida. Jones helped make the original BOSS 302 a racing legend in its own right some 40 years ago with his frequent trips down victory lane. "To compare these two cars, they can make a lot more power today, and they've certainly done that," Jones said. He also stated that "the new car is phenomenal." With 2009 profit, Ford again exceeds expectations January 29, 2010 Bryce G. Hoffman / The Detroit News
The $2.7 billion profit Ford Motor Co. reported Thursday for 2009 dispelled doubts about the automaker's turnaround, but also has raised some very high expectations among investors. Instead of trying to figure out whether Ford will survive, Wall Street is now trying to figure out how much money it will make in 2010. Expectations are running high after another quarter in which Ford's financial results exceeded analysts' projections. Click here to read more >
